Hello, I’m Max.
Creative Director.
Experiential Producer.
Still curious.
01 / ONE THING LED TO ANOTHER
I started with photography. The curiosity stayed. The medium kept changing.
Images led to films, motion, identities and websites. At Magnificent Matter, that same impulse takes me into microscopic worlds and spaces you can step inside.
Collaboration is a thread through that work, too. I met Tom Herman through Monopol, and our freelance collaboration with Space & Brand opened another chapter: helping brands such as Wen Cheng find their expression across films, design and digital experiences.
I’m interested in what happens between those disciplines: how an idea finds its visual language, how a story becomes a place, and how all the small decisions begin to feel like one thing.
Not Another Tab is where that work comes together. Client collaborations sit alongside personal projects — a restaurant website, a book about Japan, a little neighbourhood in 3D. Different starting points. The same urge to see where they lead.
A FEW THINGS FROM THE DESK
Different materials. The same curiosity.

Start with the question, the people and the context. Shape the idea before deciding what form it should take.
Connect story, image, motion and space. Build a language that holds together as the idea moves between them.
Move between direction and hands-on work. Bring in collaborators and follow the idea through design, production and the details that make it feel right.

03 / A FEW CHAPTERS ALONG THE WAY
Freelance creative & digital collaboration
Working with Tom Herman across projects including Wen Cheng, Sanku Maotsai and KERB Foodhall. Film, photography, graphic and motion design connect with digital strategy and web work. At Wen Cheng, the collaboration grew from recruiting and store films into responsibility for the main website, online shop and franchise website, alongside Tom’s lead creative direction and the wider team.
Art, creative direction & production
Our studio at Monopol became a meeting point for shared artistic work. Encounters x 1-06 was a Catatumbo Lab project initiated by Magnificent Matter: a two-day gathering of music and new-media art at Wilhelmine. I led the event production, alongside Anja on the venue side, while sharing artistic work, creative direction and production with Alex through Magnificent Matter.
Co-founder & Creative Director
A closer look at the invisible. Microscopic processes become moving images, live performances and immersive environments.
Creative direction / motion & brand design
Building a shared visual language for a collective response from club culture, across streams, motion templates and social content.
Moving image & creative production
Agency work across films, motion design and visual communication. An important chapter in connecting the idea with the craft of making it.
Brand design & product management
Following a brand from its story into packaging, communication and the things people hold in their hands.
Independent practice begins
Photography, film and motion became the starting point for a practice that keeps finding new forms.
